Money Saving Tip #6 Use Travelex.com to get the best rates on your currency (better than the Post Office!). Mykonos is known as the party island in all of Greece and a favorite destination for party animals on their Greece holidays. It has plenty of beach clubs, discos, bars and nightclubs and they are extreme party animals to the point that these places start their party from day to dawn - and that is literally party all day long. Many young tourists choose to spend the daytimes sightseeing and visiting historical places, but when the sun falls, they all flock to the beaches and clubs for a wild night out. Some even dub Mykonos island as the Miami of Greece holidays. It is glamorous - and it is also full of high-end boutique which sells crazy expensive apparels, designer wear and jewelries. However, if you were to visit Mykonos, you should not miss out on its souvenirs, handicrafts, and if you can afford it, purchase one of the fine silver works forged by local smiths. While mostly everything is pricey, look out for bargains from street vendors. On Mykonos island, Pelicans are considered to be their mascot. There are plenty of pelicans around, so if you fancy, "make friends" with them, but be careful though, some pelicans could be aggressive. As usual, just like any other place in Greece, typical of Greece holidays, there are plenty places for sightseeing, from the historical to the modern - Mykonos offers plenty of eye candy. There are hundreds of churches in Mykonos, but one that stands out the most is the Paraportiani Church in Chora. It is mounted on top of a hill of rocks which grants those who go up there a beautiful view of the translucent sea. You should also stop by and take photographs of at least one of the six windmills called the Kato Myli. These churches and windmills attract many on their Greece holidays. Money Saving Tip #2 Book your hotel through Booking.com and get the lowest rate for your hotel..guaranteed! Perhaps you feel like going the distance, take a ferry ride from Chora to the Delos island, where the ruins of the Temple of Apollo are. It is said to be the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo. Whether you are there to party, to enjoy the beautiful sights or to dine at the local taverns, Mykonos will give you memorable Greece holidays.
