| Cheapest Time to Fly to Greece |
| Written by Anna James | Posted in General Updated 20-May | ||||||||||||||||
The cheapest time of the year, according to airlines, to fly to Greece is in December. I am quite sure this would be the same for most places. This is the farthest from the peak season so it would make sense to be cheaper. Now if you want to holiday in Greece for the hot weather and to see all the tourists then this wouldn’t work for you. If this is not an issue then you can more than likely save up to 50% flying in December. Money Saving Tip #6 Use Travelex.com to get the best rates on your currency (better than the Post Office!). There are probably lots of advantages to this as well. Okay so the prices would be cheaper. This is generally slower times for airlines so they probably put deals to there for travelers to fly. They may have other incentives as well. You will probably have no trouble finding seats on the plane of your choice. Now let’s consider real cheap, if using your air miles chances are there won’t be many blocked periods through this time. There will be just less tourists all over which will make travelling nicer. In addition to the cheap flying most everything else will likely be cheaper in December. Being a slow time these places still have overhead to pay so they need to have their service utilized. In order to do this they will offer competitive prices aimed at getting your business. Make sure to pay attention for these deals and use them to your advantage. Why not benefit from this they would sure charge you more if you were going during peak season. The more money you save on the trip will enable you to spend elsewhere or even stay longer. As well as the time of year being cheaper so will the time of week and time of day that you depart. Generally speaking certain days are cheaper to fly than others. Weekends tend to be more expensive, and Thursday tends to be the cheapest day to depart. The time of day that you leave as well makes a difference. Everybody wants to leave mid day. But if there is a flight and you are willing to leave very late at night till very early in the morning, let’s say midnight to 6 am, chances are the flight may be cheaper. Another cheaper way to fly is by skipping the direct flight. Naturally we all just want to get there, and you pay for that. If you are okay with a layover somewhere chances are it may be cheaper. Of course the more layovers the cheaper yet. Depends on how much time and patience you have. No one really likes spending time at airports waiting but if it saves you some money it might not be that bad. It seems as well the more flexibility that a person has the better their chances is for a cheap flight. Many people fly what they call stand by. Basically you wait at the airport ready to go for an empty seat. Sometimes you luck out and other times it’s a long wait. Most people’s schedule would find it hard to do that. But if you can you may be able to save lots of money. In contrast if you are able to book your trip months in advance then you might have a great savings as well. Money Saving Tip #2 Book your hotel through Booking.com and get the lowest rate for your hotel..guaranteed! In order to find the cheapest time to fly to Greece just keeping checking online to see the prices. Or you can reach a travel agent who will be able to assist you with this as well. Don’t rush it take your time. If you would like to share your thoughts or request any more information on this topic please do so by leaving a comment below.
