Naturally if you book far in advance and stay for a longer duration it is generally cheaper.

Also if you are able to hold out and book at the last minute this may make a big difference in price as well. The reason for this is let’s use a cruise as an example is ready to depart for a certain day. A week or so before its departure it still isn’t booked. Well the ship would rather have it booked cheap than not at all so they will a real discount price on the cruise just to book it. This way it’s a win win for everyone. Most places like airlines and hotels do this as well.
